| Synopsis: |
Anne Reid stars as May, an ordinary grandmother from the suburbs of London. Life holds few surprises for her until a family trip to London suddenly leaves her widowed when her husband dies of a heart attack. Unable to go back to their home alone, May decides to stay in London, where she recedes into the background of her children’s busy and complicated lives. Stuck in an unfamiliar city far from home, May fears that she has become another invisible old lady whose life is more or less over. Until, that is, she meets Darren (Daniel Craig), a man half her age who is renovating her son’s house and sleeping with her daughter. As their relationship develops, he opens up things in her she thought were lost forever. But it all comes at a price. |
