When you think about it, the impact of the comics world on movies and entertainment just might be the biggest event in Film and TV in the last decade or so. As such, it comes to no surprise that the annual Comic Cons, a bastion of geekiness, are providing fertile grounds for details on upcoming movie and TV projects.

The New York Comic Con is ongoing this week and yesterday some details started to surface about the live action Star Wars TV show.

Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm’s Director of Fan Relations, was quoted over on MTV that the TV series will feature "some characters we know" and show the "greasy, seamy underbelly of Star Wars." I didn't realize you could get any greasier than Jar Jar Binks.

Later this year, Star Wars: The Clone Wars will debut on the Cartoon Network. The animated series will further fill in the gaps between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

The live-action series is currently hoping to air by 2010. Get in line now!
