Jonah HillAccording to Entertainment Weekly, funnyman on the rise Jonah Hill is in early negotiations to join Shia LaBeouf in the cast of Transformers 2. The role that Hill is being considered for is that of Chuck, Shia's college roommate.
Thanks to cast breakdown that was allegedly leaked to Internet described the part as such:
[CHUCK] 19-25 yrs., Sam’s roommate at Princeton. He runs a conspiracy theory website. Funny in an irreverent, edgy way, he is shocked to see his conspiracy theories come to life. (2nd Lead)
Director Michael Bay has stated that the leak casting breakdown is not accurate. But then again, what else is he going to say?
I don't know about you, but I welcome Jonah's inclusion and think that this role, if correct, is one that he was born to play. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly is reporting that talks between Jonah Hill and DreamWorks concerning Transformers 2 have broken down.
While his comic relief would have helped to bring levity to the movie, some would argue that the first movie had enough comedy from the robots themselves. Of course, everything is negotiation in Hollywood and this might just be another step in the process.
Only time will tell.
