Allegedly, Viacom big wig Sumner Redstone told Entertainment Tonight that if the movie performs as expected this weekend, then we will see Iron Man 2 in theaters this same weekend in 2010. Of course with the next Chronicles of Narnia installment already penciled in for the first weekend in May 2010, Iron Man 2 might be up against a more formidable opponent than McDreamy.
Only time will tell, but one this is for certain. If you plan on checking out Iron Man this weekend, don't leave before the end of the credits. Slash Film is also reporting that early screening audiences mention that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury does appear after the credits for a quick scene that is sure to set up the aforementioned sequel.
