Following up its pics of Rachel Nichols as Scarlett and Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Paramount Pictures just sent me several character portraits from next year's G.I. Joe movie.
I won't bore you with a lot of rhetoric and just get right to the photos. However, I will ask one very important question. Why doesn't Destro (Christopher Eccelston, below in the three-piece suit) have a metal mask? Does he suffer a disfiguring accident or something during the movie? If you happen to know, please let me know. I sure hope they aren't leaving out that part of his character.
UPDATE: Thanks to the readers who sent in an explanation on the mask-less Destro. Patrick B. was first. Here is the lowdown from him:
Did a bit of nosing around. According to the original cartoon and series the mask was an affectation of his family. It was worn to honor a decendant who was forced to wear the mask.
A later version claimed the mask was used to cover the fact that Destro was part cyborg.
Rumors about the movie are that it will be an origin story and along with the mask will also explain why Snakeyes cannot speak among other things.
All in all, who knows the real reason, but we will find out eventually.
OK, as promised, here are the character pics. Click on each to see a high-resolution version.
