It almost never happens, but once in every great while, I get moved by a fan-made tribute. Mostly I think, my lack of excitement stems from the shoddy quality and general haphazard look of the finished product of most fan "tributes."
I mean if something is supposed to be an homage, shouldn't it present things in the best possible light?
So, it was a shock to me when I actually watched this fan-made trailer for Green Lantern that I not only enjoyed it thoroughly, but I also got psyched for a movie that wasn't even on my radar. You see, I'm not a comic book fan. I know, I know, I should relinquish my geek cred right now.
I didn't know anything about the Green Lantern lore, but in this simple, yet amazing 2 minutes and 38 seconds worth of trailer, I have a basic knowledge of the character and what to expect in the movie. Many professional trailers for real movies can't even accomplish that easily.
Heck, I didn't even know there were other Lanterns out there or that the Green Lantern could fly. Hats off to you Jaron Pitts! You've made Warner Bros. job a lot easier in a couple of years.
As for the long germinating project, rumors abound about who is going to play the titular role with Chris Pine and Nathan Fillion being the leading choices. Jaron has chosen Fillion to don the ring.
