It seemed inevitable from the start and with today's first full-length trailer for American Reunion, we will finally get it. Jim's Dad and Stifler's Mom are finally going to hook up.

OK, so that's not exactly earth-shattering news, but the first full-length trailer continues on the scorching path of the first two teaser trailers to actually breathe new life into this franchise. As I've mentioned before, when they announced American Reunion, I groaned. I felt that there wasn't anything left to be told with this group that hasn't already been done a million times over.

But, I'm pretty sure I was wrong.

Like slipping on your favorite pair of blue jeans, there's just something familiar and warm about seeing these characters one more time. We practically grew up with them from high school to college to marriage. It's only fitting that we check back in on them one more time to see how things are going.

This trailer does a great job of literally capturing every character from the franchise that we care about. If you look really close, you'll even spot the Shermanator and John Cho's MILF guy #2, aka John, sporting the creepiest mustache you've ever seen.

And if you were wondering whether Nadia would show up for the Reunion, this trailer will settle the issue once and for all. Beyond the nostalgia, this trailer is the first to actually delve into the story of the film.

More than just a simple one-gag joke, it looks as though American Reunion will tackle a few weighty issues of life in your late 20s. You know, that period when some of your friends are settled down with kids (Jim and Michelle) and others are still reliving their greatest hits album from high school (Stifler).

I was actually a bit bummed to find out that Oz and Heather didn't make it, but if the trade off was a slo-mo shot of Katrina Bowden, I understand. American Reunion hits theaters on April 6, 2012.
