It's not too often these days that a film will sneak up on me out of nowhere. But, that's exactly what happened with Safety Not Guaranteed.

It's not like it was hiding or anything. It generated a bunch of buzz at this year's Sundance Film Festival and it has a great indie cast that really should have been on my radar.

But it's no use crying over spilled milk. When I watched this trailer, I really didn't have any expectations, so in that way it was quite refreshing to experience without any preconceived notions at all.

I love Aubrey Plaza and I'm totally digging Jake M. Johnson's work on New Girl, so it didn't take long to win me over. After that, the quirky subject matter made it a grand slam and another in a long list of must see movies this Summer.

Opening up on June 8, I'm afraid that Safety Not Guaranteed will get lost in the midst of all those huge Summer blockbusters and that's a shame. But, if you're looking for something a bit different during the heat of the Summer and a break from the action effects porn that will be clogging up most of the screens at megaplexes, then I highly recommend that you seek out this little flick.

Watch the trailer below and decide for yourself.

Looks great. Especially like the look of the cast and the way the story appears to be framed. I'll definitely see it.

Excellent! Thanks for your comment. I couldn't agree more. In fact, I praised it as such in our podcast this week.
