In news that will surprise absolutely no one, The Weinstein Company has changed the name of The Wettest County in the World. It shall forever be known by the much simpler (and grittier) Lawless.

Naturally it's a great move for a movie that was sort of getting a reputation as being that movie with "Wettest" in the title. It was fine for the book, but film audiences will devour Lawless much easier.

The true story of brothers caught in the cross hairs of Prohibition and their successful moonshine business does not lack for star power with Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska putting their considerable talents in front of the camera. The gangster/heroic bad guys story is an easy sell with audiences and this film should be both a financial success and an awards darling.

This trailer represents our first look at the film and it definitely does not disappoint at all. With its release coming at the tail end of the Summer slate on August 31, I think it's safe to say that this Summer is one of epic proportions, but that's a story for another day.
