• Doug graduated from Brown University.
• Doug started making short films in junior high. He also took classes at New York City's Internaational School of Photography.
• For graduate school, Doug went USC's film school and founded the school's first student-ran cable tv station.

Swingers (1996)
Swingers screenwriter Jon Favreau gave Doug the project because he was the only one who didn't want to cast big stars in the film. Doug agreed to cast Jon, and his best friends Vince Vaughn, Ron Livingston and Patrick Van Horne in the movie.
