• Dana is married and he has two sons, Dex and Thomas.
• He is only 5' 7" tall.
• Dana is widely known for his Saturday Night Live skits, characters but mostly for his dead-on impersonations. He was a SNL cast member for seven seasons, ending his run in 1992.
• Dana graduated from San Francisco State University with a communications arts degree.
• In 1998, Dana underwent an angioplasty to unclog an artery. Months after the surgery, Dana was re-admitted for a bypass surgery. Unfortunately, his ailments returned and, after x-rays, Dana was told the surgeon had performed the bypass on the wrong artery.
• Dana sued a San Francisco surgeon for $7.5 million dollars after a botched bypass surgery. The surgeon's insurance company settled out-of-court and Dana donated all of the money to charity.
