• Sofia has a son named Manolo, born in 1992.
• Her family nicknamed her "La Toty".
• Sofia was once the host of "Fuera de Serie" (Out of this World) on the Spanish language TV network Univision. She later went on to her own primetime show called "A Que No Te Atreves" (I Dare You) in 1999.
• She was once given the "Hispanic Woman of the Year" award for her leadership in representing the qualities Latina women have to offer the world.
