• His uncle is writer and actor Robert Schenkkan. He co-wrote the screenplay for The Quiest American.
• Ben graduated from the University of Virginia in 2001 with a degree in foreign relations. His father and grandfather also attended UVa.
• His appearance as Ryan Atwood on Fox TV's "The O.C." is Benjamin's first starring role.
• After graduating from college, Ben moved to New York City to pursue acting. He arrived in the NYC just weeks before the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
