Did You Know?

• His role in 'Stand And Deliver' in 1992 earned him an Academy Award nomination for best actor.
• Olmos is a strong activist for many causes. His main concerns are the needs and rights of children. He makes more than 150 public appearances yearly in juvenile halls, detention centers and schools trying to reach at-risk kids. His message is that we all have a choice, stressing educaton and the risks of gang life.
• His words were actions during the 1992 L.A. riots, as he entered the thick of the riots with his broom being calm and reasonable.
• He married Lorraine Bracco in 1994. They divorced in 2002.
