• Joely is the daughter of the late Tony Richardson and actress Vanessa Redgrave. Her sister is actress Natasha Richardson.
• Although born in London, Joely grew up in the United States, attending high schools (boarding schools) in both California and Florida.
• Joely was married to director Tim Bevan, but the two divorced in 1997. They have one daughter, Daisy.
• Joely is seeing British TV broadcaster Jamie Theakston.
