• Kate married her Underworld director Len Wiseman in 2004.
• Kate enrolled at Oxford University's New College and studied French and Russian. She decided to put her education on hold and pursue her acting career.
• Kate's parents were both involved in the entertainment business in London. Her father, Richard Beckinsale, was a comedic actor until his untimely death when Kate was 11 years old. Her mother, Judy Loe, is a casting director for the BBC.
• During her third year at Oxford, Kate studied abroad in Paris.
• She had a daughter, Lily, in 1999 with actor Michael Sheen.
