• Diane's parents are father acting coach Burt Lane and singer/centerfold Colleen Farrington (Playboy, October 1957). They separated shortly after Diane was born.
• Diane acted with the legendary Laurence Olivier in her first big debut, A Little Romance. His praises about Diane and calling her "the next Grace Kelly" gave her notice.
• Diane was married to actor Christopher Lambert. They divorced in 1994. They have one daughter, Eleanor.
• Diane was told by Eileen Ford, the international modeling guru, her neck was too short to be a model.
• Diane confesses that she's had two affairs. One with actor Timothy Hutton and the second with actor Christopher Atkins.
