Melina attended Ohio State University but graduated from Point Park College in Pennsylvania. She was magna cum laude with a BFA in theatre.
Her family owns and runs a candy business in Akron.
Melina is married to chef/restauranteur Peter Constantinades. They have one daughter, Zoe.
Melina speaks Greek fluently.
Melina began her professional acting career on the daytime soap opera 'Guiding Light' as a Greek immigrant. This role gave her two daytime Emmy nominations.
She stars in the prime-time drama 'Providence.' Melina was cast for her role without an audition and the rest of the crew was cast by their chemistry with her.
Melina is the youngest of three sisters.
Melina was the runner-up in the Miss Ohio beauty pageant in 1986.
Melina met her husband at Ohio State University. Both Greek-Americans, their extended family is so big that they had over 550 guests at their wedding.
