• Peter is married to Portia Rebecca Crockett. They were married in 1972.
• Peter and his first wife had two children, Bridget and Justin.
• Peter accidentally shot himself in the stomach when he was 10 years old.
• John Lennon wrote the song "She Said She Said" about Peter after an acid trip where Peter kept telling him "I know what it's like to be dead, man." Peter was talking about when he shot himself. His heart stopped three times and he died on the operating table.
