• Garcelle is divorced from producer Daniel Sanders and they have one son, Oliver.
• Garcelle's mother moved her family to Massachusetts from Haiti when she was 12, after her parent's divorce.
• She has six siblings.
• When she was 16, the family moved back south to Miami and a year later Garcelle traveled back to New York to pursue a modeling career.

• Her trip to New York got her a contract with the Ford Agency. Garcelle was a cover girl for the likes of Avon, Mary Kay and Clairol then she took to the big stage with Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrahi.
• Her acting debut came on Aaron Spelling's 'Models, Inc.," a short-lived television series. Garcelle wanted the role so badly she hand delivered a photo and resume to Mr. Spelling.
• She also starred in the police-drama 'NYPD Blue' as Assistant D.A. Valerie Heywood.
