• Shannyn was "discovered" by an agent when she attended Gwyneth and Jack Paltrow's birthday party. She was helping her friend DJ the party. Francine Maisler (the casting director) didn't call her until six-months later.
• Shannyn stars in the music video "God Gave Me Everything" by Mick Jagger.
• She grew up in Nevada.
• Shannyn was approached by an agent then three commercials and six-months later she landed her first big role in A Knight's Tale.
• Shannyn and two friends left Reno and headed for Los Angeles after high school graduation. The three young women were in search of dancing careers. Acting found Shannyn instead.
• Shannyn DJ'd for five years after she moved to LA before she got her big break.
