• Erika is married to artist/screenwriter Tony Puryear. For her wedding present, he gave Erika a full size picture of herself that he had painted.
• Erika went to the Philadelphia High School for Girls.
• Erika starred on the sitcom 'Living Single.'
• Erika left New York University after only two weeks to perform in Peter Brook's 'The Mahabaharta,' which toured internationally.
• Bill Cosby created a character for Erika in his hit series 'The Cosby Show' during its last two seasons. She played Pam, the troubled cousin who comes to visit.
• After Bill Cosby helped Erika get "her foot in the door" she decided she was very lucky to have someone already so established help her. So, Erika created a $20,000 scholarship for Freedom Theaters performing arts program.
• Erika studied at Philadelphia's Freedom Theater.
