Check it out: E-commerce is coming

Posted September 01,2017 - 07:53 AM

Since the day we started the site in 1999, there has been one question asked more than any other: why can't I buy this movie from VideoETA? We are excited to announce that starting Tuesday, you will be able to buy all of your favorite movies, and more, directly from us.

If you are a fan of the old information only site, don't despair. All of the same great release date information will still be there, but now you can make VideoETA your one-stop solution. Some of the new features on the site include:

  • Buying movies, games and more directly from us
  • The ability to search for video games
  • An updated search engine with more robust results and new filters
  • A dedicated page for all of our undiscovered picks

In order to place more emphasis on our new selling venture and to provide you with more timely information, we will be switching our weekly newsletter to Tuesdays to better line up with the weekly street dates of films and video games. The new site has competitively priced products and offers various unique items that you won't find anywhere else. Check out the new site when we launch it on Tuesday and let us know what you think.

In the meantime, let us know what you think of the new site direction and ask any questions below in the comments and I'll answer them as quickly as possible.

LOVE the new site. A little worried I'll go broke now that I can get all my movies as soon as I see they're being released but ya'know, champagne problems and all that. Is there / could there be a way to switch from a grid view back to the old list view in the upcoming releases page? I found it easier and more convenient to look that way. Also miss the titles with unspecified dates at the top. That one slight gripe aside, things are looking good; keep it up!

Thanks, CantGetNo. We are working on bringing back a line-listing view without artwork. It seems that it was a feature whose popularity we vastly underappreciated. It will be fixed soon. That's a good suggestion about the upcoming/estimated month of release. I will take it to our developers and will see what they can do. John
